Selection process and criteria

Candidates’ assessment will be performed at local and central levels.

At local level the responsibility of the Partners will regard the assessment of the applications received for incoming and outgoing candidates applying to a specific University.

 

Prior to selecting students for exchanges, the sending institution will ensure that all selected participants meet the basic eligibility criteria of their respective government agency.

 

Each Partner will perform the evaluation using standard criteria and within the deadlines set by the Steering Committee in order to:

  • verify each applicant’s eligibility, based on administrative and academic requirements specified by the hosting University for each level or course.
  • the pre-evaluation will rank each eligible application on the basis of the criteria defined below.
    Additional requirements may apply taking into consideration local needs and procedures at hosting or sending University for each kind of mobility.
  • the eligible applications will be ranked and listed for typology (BS, MS, PhD, post-doc, academic staff).
  • the list (s) will be forwarded to the Partnership Coordinator and will include both eligible candidates ranked by merit and indicating the length of the mobility grants.
    Ineligible application, unranked, will be listed in alphabetical order.

The Coordinator will collect the selected candidates lists from all the Partner Universities. The shortlist of all pre-selected applications will be jointly selected by the partners (CSCB) and will generate the final list of successful applications entitled to be the beneficiary of the grants and will identify/appoint  the candidates in the reserve list.

 

The following criteria, means and weights on the basis of 100 Points will be used to evaluate applicants.

 

All kind of applications:

  • Academic results verified through official documentation (CV and transcripts of records or diplomas)
  •  Language skills, should comply to the requirements of the host institution and/or programme (Certification or self evaluation with on line tools)
  •  Motivation and impact on sustainable development (letter of motivation)
  •  Letters of recommendation (where applicable)
  •  Gender balance
  •  Special relevance group  (official evidence you belong to vulnerable group is required: eg.refugee card, declaration  etc. )

 PhD and Post-doc

  • Academic relevance and scientific achievements (CV, academic titles, publications)
  •  Project proposal (study/ research programme)
  •  Language skills  
  •  Motivation and impact on sustainable development (letter of motivation)
  •  Letters of recommendation (where applicable)

 Academic staff

  • Teaching and/or working experience (CV)
  • Invitation letter of the hosting institution

A Learning agreements for exchange BA/MA will be compulsory requested before the mobility will take place.

The formal acceptance of the Study/Research programme from a Doctoral school and/or of a research supervisor at the hosting institution will be requested for PhD and Post-doc candidates.
