Project overview

The Project BRIDGING THE GAP, funded by the Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window  Programme, implements regional and multilateral networking between HEI in Europe (IT, AT, DE, ES, FI PT,TK) and in two Asian sub-regions: Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia), Central Asia (China and Mongolia), involving less developed areas aiming at shaping practical solutions (models, methods, tools, patterns) for joint education and research in relevant thematic fields but also models and procedures for knowledge / technology transfer and business related initiatives.

The project’s cultural and socio-economic diversity will lead all participants (and beneficiaries) to a know-how exchange and deeper understanding of the involved regions, enhancing teaching/learning processes between and inside partner institutions which will positively influence future developments and relations.
Pilot projects and sandwich internships set by the host institutions in collaboration with local industrial or cultural organizations will facilitate the transfer of know how creating expertise and a solid background for local development.
